Postpartum Doula
Birth and postpartum are some of the most sacred and vulnerable times in someone’s life. If we work together I am bound to see you physically and emotionally naked and raw. It is important you feel safe and comfortable with the team you choose to support your journey. My practice is rooted community care, antiracism, informed consent, decolonizing care, educating, and assisting you in tapping into your inner strength and power.
I believe the birth of a child, and rebirth of humans in the transition to becoming a parent, are sacred and beautiful experiences. Knowing birth and postpartum are strenuous on the physical body as well as requiring an immense amount of mental strength – I bring in knowledge about regulating your central nervous system, focusing on mind-body connection of somatic experiencing, advocating for you in this vulnerable space, providing a container as you are pushed to your limits, and provide knowledge to help you make the best choices for yourself and your family.
I am passionate about the postpartum period to help families navigate the transitions of a new parental identity, preparing parent’s relationship for changes, caring for themselves, and setting up realistic expectations for what the future will bring.
I began this work while I was in my undergraduate degree studying social work with minors in psychology and women & gender studies. I finished my undergrad in 2018, worked in community mental health at a crisis clinic for a couple years, and then went back to school for my masters in social work with a focus on somatic therapy and the perinatal period of a person’s life.
I am a certified birth and postpartum doula, a licensed social worker, and a student midwife. You can catch me around Austin climbing rocks, crocheting at Barton Springs, and doing acro at Zilker Park.
